Emy Todoroki-Schwartz

Emy Todoroki-Schwartz is a pianist from Tokyo, Japan, who has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician across Japan, Spain, and the United States. After graduating from Tokyo College of Music High School, she pursued further studies in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Piano Performance from New York University, where she also served as an adjunct faculty member.

In 2009, Todoroki-Schwartz received a Special Presentation Award from Artists International Auditions, leading to her solo debut recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She has collaborated with distinguished artists such as violinists Naoko Tanaka and Eriko Sumi, and has performed with members of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.

Her discography includes solo albums released under the Grace Music Label, with her debut album ranking among the top 10 on e-onkyo’s classical music chart for several months. In 2022, her album “Nostalgia,” a collaboration with violinist Eriko Sumi, was selected as a “special selection” by a prestigious Japanese recording magazine.

Todoroki-Schwartz has also served as a collaborative pianist at institutions such as Hebrew Union College, The University of Texas at Austin, and New York University. She is currently based in Japan and is a performance member of the Japan Piano Teachers’ National Association (PTNA).
