Jure Gradišnik

Jure Gradišnik is a distinguished Slovenian trumpeter. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under the tutelage of Professor Stanko Arnold and later pursued advanced studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Professor Hans Gansch. Throughout his academic journey, Gradišnik garnered numerous accolades, including the Yamaha Scholarship in 2003. In 2005, he was honored with the Prešeren Student Prize for his rendition of Henri Tomasi’s Trumpet Concerto alongside the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra.aadsvik, Roland Szentpali, and Gene Pokorny.

In 2003, during his studies, Gradišnik commenced his professional career as a solo trumpeter with the Ljubljana Opera and Ballet Orchestra, a position he held until 2012. He currently serves as the principal trumpet of the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. Beyond his orchestral commitments, Gradišnik actively collaborates with various ensembles, including the SiBrass Quintet, Trio Seraphim, and a duo with harpist Maria Gamboz Gradišnik. As a soloist, he has performed with esteemed groups such as the Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber String Orchestra, the Slovenian Armed Forces Orchestra, and the Maribor Festival Chamber Orchestra.

In addition to his performance career, Gradišnik is dedicated to education. Since 2004, he has been teaching at the music school of the St. Stanislav Institute. In 2011, he was appointed as an assistant professor, and by 2015, he became an associate professor at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana.

Gradišnik’s artistry has led him to collaborate with renowned musicians, including Stanko Arnold, Richard Galliano, Steven Mead, and Richard Tognetti. He has also performed under the direction of esteemed conductors such as Anton Nanut, Uroš Lajovic, Marko Letonja, En Shao, Dirk Rossberg, and Tomáš Hanus.
