Ottaviano Cristofoli, born on August 29, 1986, in Udine, Italy, began playing the trumpet at the age of 10. He graduated from the “J. Tomadini” Conservatory in Udine in 2004. Following his graduation, he joined the Italian Youth Orchestra at the Fiesole Academy of Music. He furthered his studies in the United States, collaborating with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. During this period, he performed as principal trumpet with major Italian orchestras, including the Opera di Roma, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, and the Giuseppe Verdi Symphony Orchestra in Milan.
In 2008, Cristofoli moved to Japan to join the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra under the artistic direction of Yutaka Sado. The following year, he was appointed principal trumpet of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in Tokyo. In 2016, he became a member of “Samurai Brass,” a group of brass players, and has been active in various genres, including music for films, TV programs, and commercials. In 2019, he founded the music academy “Music System Italy/Japan” and serves as its artistic director.

Cristofoli has released several recordings, including his debut album “Fulgor” in 2015, featuring unpublished Italian music dedicated to him. In 2018, he released “Azzurra,” a collaboration with Japanese pianist Doremi Takahashi. He continues to perform internationally and contributes to both Italian and Japanese musical landscapes.
